Karoo, Kudu Thief and Lisa passes 4×4 test

We are in the Karoo which is a semi-arid desert that takes up about 1/3 of South Africa. We are staying in the Karoo National Park of about 800 sq miles. Mountainous and stunning scenery.

The campsite has a resident Kudu who likes to investigate. When an 800 pound animal wants to have a look, you just let him eat your apples. There’s also Manny the mongoose and a few giant tortoises.

It was time for Lisa to prove her medal. We went on a 3 hour 4×4 drive on gravel and over steep passes. She did excellent. Next step is changing the 100 pound tire!

Off to wild camping in the morning.
