Train to Galle

I am so far behind in my posts! I owe a last entry for Thailand, but I promise I’ll get to that soon.

Currently, if I haven’t said, we are back in Sri Lanka in our lovely bungalow at Villa Don Hendrick just outside Tangalle. Today we’re off to Galle for two nights. We’re on the train now. I just popped into the canteen here at the station for amazing roti and some other fried, spicy finger food. Just as a note, I paid a dollar for six roti at the Tangalle market, but the station is double! Two dollars for six. Our tickets for the second class carriage were 700 Sri Lankan rupees total, so about $2.50. Some things are amazingly cheap, while a new car is at least $60,000 due to importing, etc.

There is much more to share. We head to Johannesburg on the 23rd via Doha. There’s the bell! Time to post and eat another roti. 😊
