We finished our 97-day trip to Southern Africa with a week in Franschhoek, about an hour from Cape Town. This is always my favorite place. Our friends are here and it’s where we were married.
After a lot of relaxing, walking and catching up with everyone, we all got together for lunch at Avondale Winery the day before we left. Avondale has become the place where we celebrate with friends and family each time we visit. The grounds are beautiful. The bright white Cape Dutch architecture stands out against all the flowers and greenery. We usually sit in the garden and stay the better part of an afternoon, which is exactly what we did this time. Good food, good wine and a special time with old friends. And many wonderful memories!
