When we were at Madikwe in January, we saw Blondie a lot. He’s a huge, beautiful male lion with 100% testosterone. He’s fathered several cubs and, according to our ranger, he killed a rival male last year. He’s tough. Apparently he also used to charge the rangers’ vehicles, maybe for fun or just to clarify who’s really at the top of the food chain.
