Sounds of silence

We are staying at a nice place on the river. Across the river is both a Buddhist temple and a Mosque. The temple has a Waniguchi: Disk-shaped gongs, often found near the main hall, rung to call the attention of deities before prayers. And the mosque does call to prayer amplified by speakers.

So, at 4:00am the waniguchi starts for about 30 minutes which arouses the chickens, dogs, birds and other animals.

At 5:00am the call to prayer starts with the same results.

At 7:00am I ask Lisa her thoughts on the noise which was met by a “huh?”

Oh, 5:30-7:00 was occupied by rather loud snoring.
